    Eligibility Criteria

    In Singapore, a student visa is known as a student pass. This pass is necessary for full-time courses. With permission from the recognized university or college, you can apply for a Student Pass. The Immigration and Checkpoint Authority (In short, ICA) approves the pass to international students in Singapore. The student pass is necessary for full-time study programs. The requirements for applying for a Singapore Student Visa is as follows.

    • Polytechnic Diploma & Bachelor programs overall band score of 6.0 or equivalent.
    • Master Degree IELTS 6.0 – 6.5 or equivalent depending on the program.

    Singapore Study Visa Process

    As an international student, you must apply for a student after being accepted for a full-time study program by an educational institution in Singapore. In Singapore, as stated earlier, each visa is referred to as a PASS.     Earn while Studying

    Every International Student aspires to work part-time when he goes to study abroad. Indeed, a part-time job is necessary to earn enough to cut daily expenses. Therefore, an international student studying in any of the institutions approved by Singapore's Ministry of Manpower can do a part-time job for 16 hours/week and even full-time during vacations. Moreover, apart from work visas and opportunities, there are certain short-term activities in Singapore, which do not require any work visa. These activities include seminars, journalism, etc. But you must notify the MOM (Ministry of Manpower) that you are planning to work in a work pass exempt activity.

    Work Permits after Studying (PSW)

    Skilled and semi-skilled workers

    For medium level jobs, like that of a technician, you need to get an S Pass which is open to all nationalities. Your minimum monthly income for this should be $2,200. A special work permit for foreign workers is approved for only some countries for occupations like marine, manufacturing, construction, and the likes.

    Professional workers

    You will need to have an EntrePass if you do not want to work for any company and plan to start your own business. If you have the minimum salary of $3,600 and work in an executive position, you can apply for Employment Pass. Personalized Employment Pass is an advanced version of Employmnt Pass and you can only apply for it after you have worked under the Employment Pass.
